Good Monday Morning!

Well, our fun week of spring break #3 is over.  Now everyone is back into the swing of things.  And despite the tons of help I had from my wonderful husband, there is still plenty to be done today.  We folded about 6 baskets of laundry on Saturday (and got them all put away!!!).  But what do I have staring at me today??  Oh yes, another 6 baskets full of clean, unfolded laundry.  Don't you hate that???  Oh yes.  But I'd rather fold laundry than wash dishes or clean bathrooms.  Laundry was always my favorite chore growing up... because I could sit next to the washer and dryer while they ran and read a book and I was still "working" on my job!  Still, reading and laundry go together for me... I get books on CD and fold while I listen!  It's the best of both worlds... being productive and entertained at the same time!!!

What's your favorite chore or your nemesis chore?  And how do you motivate yourself to get them done??

I don't mind doing the laundry, but I hate folding the laundry. Most of the time, our clean clothes just remain in baskets because neither one of us want to fold them. Listening to music or an audiobook would be a good way to go, though. I might have to try that.

My favorite chore...that seems like an oxy moron. Anyway, I'd say that I like to vacuum because it feels like I'm getting a work out while I clean.

Honestly, though, other than folding laundry, I don't mind doing anything as long as I'm in the mood. If I'm not in the mood, though, good luck getting me to do anything.

Laundry is my nemesis!!!!
I enjoy any kind of housework when I'm in a good, energetic mood. When I'm angry or upset I can sometimes vent while washing dishes.

Jenni, mine usually stays in baskets too. And those baskets usually take over my entire bedroom (so the rest of the house doesn't look like a laundry-eating monster exploded in the middle). Then at night I can't get safely out of my room to rescue the kids when they're having nightmares. So, I have to occasionally have that REALLY GOOD audio book to make the task bearable. And that's my favorite chore!!! The rest of the house... yikes!

I actually hardly ever vacuum any more because my whole main level is hard wood. Hence, I sweep, A LOT... and need to even more than that!

Kayla, I'm totally with you on attacking dishes when I'm mad. If Ryan sees me at the sink, he immediately asks me what's wrong!

Folding laundry has always been a good excuse to sit and watch a tv show or movie, so that's not so bad. I used to hate dishes, but you get over that. I think my most dreaded would be cleaning the garage...so I don't. I leave that man cave alone and try to keep the door shut.

So far, we haven't established a man cave. We don't have a garage and the basement is my realm too. The closest we have is the office upstairs and it's the neatest room in the house because it is off-limits to the kids and I have no reason to be in there! ...well, except the elliptical is in there, so I should be in there a lot. Maybe that's why I so carefully avoid that room!

You know, I'm wondering if doing dishes to vent is a genetic thing, because I do it too!

I actually really enjoy sitting down and folding laundry, especially if it is still warm! Warm laundry is one of my favorite (sensory) things in the world!

As for sweeping, keeping a dog around reduces the need for it, so I don't worry about it more than once bi-weekly when the stuff the dog won't eat (dry spaghetti nodles, etc) accumulates.

The chore I dislike the most is moping the kitchen floor. We try to swiffer it daily since someone is always spilling something somewhere but it always seems to end up sticky or gunky or something.

Hmmm... maybe mopping is my least favorite... I try to never do it! I think I'm going to start a new game in my family and make my kids be Cinderella with a bucket and scrubbers!

I think your kids would fill the role of the cat better... spreading muddy footprints everywhere! At least mine would definitely be the cats.
